  • miller trailblazer 275 welder problems

i just bought a trailblazer 275 and started stick welding i turned the knob to 250 amps and start a arc weldes fine for about 2 seconds then amps drop down to about 60 and then weld be comes soft and hardly burns the rod ? if you stop and try it again does same thing whats everyone thoughts could it be a bad board or something simple ?

I'd look first for a bad connection somewhere that is heating up and causing a voltage drop in the weld current path. All welding lead connections, bad connection at output terminals, bad polarity switch etc. Could be something else but check the cheap easy stuff first.
