How can we make sure that the welder we are buying is legitimately NEW ?

Well its either online(cyberweld) , or local welding supply (airgas $+)
i am in the bay are california. Ive been researching and those two above mentioned are reputable as i understand, but there are a some $ in price difference as far as i now.
Now if i go for either of the distributors, how do i obtain the serial number before i buy the welder? Question would be would they give me the serial number before i even buy it? And then i will call miller?

if you go for either of the distributors....the machine will probably be drop-shipped directly from the factory.... can't get much fresher than that..... should be a non issue
FWIW... I have bought machines from IOC... Cyberweld and B&R... no problems....
Just wondering, can a Miller customer buy a welder from his distributor, arrange a Miller plant tour and afterwards pick his new welder up at the dock?
