Are looking to build it from raw stock or get your hands on one of those kits? There are some really cool kits out these days. Most of the parts are laser cut so these fit together nicely and require little prep for welding. <br />

A quick Google search took me to a site for "move bumpers" for fords. Look like pretty decent kits. That's just one of many though. I did one for a Toyota Tacoma for a friend a couple of years ago, can't remember the brand, but it was fun. Parts fit together nicely and came out great. Just have to paint it, I hate painting.

I have thought about both ways...raw stock and a kit. I Do like the kits for a couple of reasons....as you said, they are already all cut and fit nicely, PLUS I could easily make some "customizations" to suit my tastes/needs. If I were to make one out of raw stock, it would be somewhat cheaper, though and I would cut it all out with a Plasma cutter and base the pieces on a cardboard template I would have to make.

I don't mind painting, but the bumpers would likely get a coat of bedliner type stuff...for both ease of initial application and for any later repairs to scrapes and scratches...not to mention that it would be so ugly that no one would even want to park anywhere near my truck!!.

I tend to use whatever junk I can find for free on my stuff. For my jeep rear bumper, I was able to modify an old bumper from who knows what it came off of. But a jeep bumper is tiny compared to what you're probably looking to build. <br />

I'm thinking seriously about building a front and a rear bumper for my F250 SuperDuty Ford and would like to see an ideas/pictures/plans/templates anyone has. I looked at the "PROJECTS" part of this forum and didn't see any, but I just KNOW that some of you guys MUST have done a bumper or three, seeing as how wimpy the stock ones are! So how about showing me some of them? I need "inspiration" to get a good starting point to use when I build mine. Thanks, all!
