The WC-24 needs wires on pins A, B, and G of the 17-pin. Looking very closely at the photo you posted, it appears those pins are wired-I think I can make out the A and B, and using the plug diagram from the manual you can figure out where G is, so it ought to work.

Can't say for sure on the HF box without its serial number, but I picked a random serial number's diagram. It needs wires on A, B, C, D, and E, which also appear to be wired in your photo of the plug. I would be surprised if they changed the pinout over the years but I'm not a welder expert, just an (old) Systems Engineer who builds and fixes stuff. I'm 99% sure it will work. If you can post the ser no of the HF box we can verify.

So it will definitely work for the 30a spoolgun hu? And do think it should also work for my high frequency box(hf-251-d) too? Thanks again all help is greatly appreciated!

Looking at the wc-24 diagram, you only need three wires in that 17-pin connector to run your spoolgun. That cable has 8, apparently so it can serve other purposes. The cable in your pic is apparently made special for Miller, with 2 #14 and 6 #18 conductors. No wonder it's so expensive.

If it were mine, I'd buy a couple of 14-pin connectors and a length of 14/3 SOW cord and make one up. Connectors are often available on eBay as military surplus.

I just looked up through miller and they want $700+ for the 50' spoolgun hose and cable extension kit but I found this 75' 14 pin remote extension by its self still in the package for $220 I just didn't want to order it and have it not work. All your help is extremely appreciated and will definitely save me time and money so thank you to all who are helping me out!

I have the spoolmatic 30a and I also have the wc-24. So as long as it's a miller 14 pin remote extension it should work to connect my wc-24 to my trailblazer then my spoolgun to the wc-24 as usual correct? Then I just need to get longer Gas hose and extend the power cable also and be good to go?

    Which spoolgun?

If you have the Spoolmatic 30A, that has a 10-pin connector that mates to the required WC-24 or WC-115 and not 14-pin that connects from either of those to the machine. You would have to use any 14-pin extension to locate the WC-24/W-115 remotely from the machine and the spoolgun to the weld control.

Check to see how many wires you need on both things.
Then buy a cable with just enough wires inside the cable.
Different part numbers have a different numbers of wires inside.
I bought a cable for my Mpa with a full 14 wires in it and it cost an arm and a leg.
    Good Luck,
    Bob

    Trailblazer 302 remote extension

I need some help with finding the correct remote extension cable to extend my spoolgun reach. I would also like to use it for my high frequency box (hf-251d-1) also. I know I need a 14 pin cable but are they all the same? I found a good deal on a 75ft cable with the part number; MILLER 122975 14 Pin-14 Socket Connection Extension Cord 75' wire feeder remote

Working...
