If you are serious about TIG get the DX (and learn to use the Bells and Whistles), if you're doing a lot of Stick then non-DX.

Both can do either but that extra couple of bucks will be the easiest decision IF you want to TIG.

No, everything except the Cylinder is $5,745.50 and it includes a Wireless Footpedal (Cyberweld).

The purpose of those Barebones Examples is because you mentioned the "210" and I was saying that it is worth the Upgrade to the "DX" if you're going to outlay that much money and are going to be interested in TIG (and want to increase the Resale value).

If you only want Stick/TIG then you can save a lot by not going Multiprocess. The most important part is the Power Supply (and it's capabilities) much like a low cost Stereo with extremely expensive Speakers sounds the same to a Deaf Person as an extremely expensive Stereo with the worst Speakers - one is easier to upgrade to better sound though and scraping the Speakers for a set of U$2K Headphones might be all you need.

If you have work to do and the ability to do it a sophisticated Welding Machine can easily pay for itself in less than a week.

[This is a polite and helpful comment, unless I misunderstood you]: For you (from what you described) the 210DX will last you a while before you need to upgrade and many fancier Machines are available now or in the decades to come. It will be quite the Machine to learn TIG on.

Disclaimer: Along with time on a half dozen other TIG Machines and Setups I learnt TIG on the Aero and SynchroWave Machines (so I'm not one to talk you down to a lesser Machine - the 210 DX will be nice, probably too nice, and you won't be able to use a POS).

I agree it is more then i need it's more of a want. Class starts in a few weeks so i will start to get some time on a tig machine. Miller has a 400 dollar rebate so that brings the machine down a little.

The 215 is very much the same (MIG) as the 211. The TIG/STICK functions are very much like the Maxstar, actually I bet you couldn't tell the difference.

The 200 Multimatic is great with the Bernard gun, after I killed the gun on my old Passport I put a Bernard gun on it. The 200 is just like that now.

TIG? Dynasty is where it's at, and really if you're buying a Dynasty you're doing so to TIG with AC, so get the DX, if not then just get a Maxstar.

But just so you know, the machine doesn't make the weld, the weldor does. I and any of the other experienced weldors here could run circles around a newbie using a Dynasty DX while we "suffered" with an ancient laundromat dryer sized Union Carbide, Linde transformer or even a "new" oven range sized Syncrowave from the 80's. The new inverters with all the wiz bang buttons just gives you more options on how to control the arc...

One cautionary on the "multi-process" TIG machines (My CST 280 is one) --- they are typically limited and provide no aluminum capability to speak of. I have the 211 (one of the machines you're thinking about) and use it in my automotive shop --- one of the best machines (and I've owned over 20) I've had the pleasure to use.

One of the hard lessons I've learned is there is a major "step function" going on in industry right now --- it always seems like the next best machine is twice the money...............I'm debating getting a Dyn 210 --- it is light years ahead of the next level down (Diversion) but more than twice the money if I go with the DX variant.

IT really depends on the work you are doing. I do steel, aluminum and stainless highest I do is 1/4" so I have a Dynasty 200 DX which has served me fantastic. Sometimes I gotta bevel stuff but it all works out, its $3500 I believe.

I have both Dynasty 200DX & Dynasty 350DX Tigrunner..... and LOVE THEM..

If you are going to invest in a Dynasty..... go all the way and get the DX version..... it is well worth the extra investment...

Just purchased a 211. I've used many bigger machines over the years. This machine welds amazing, very smooth starts. I also bought a 150 spiolmatic to go along with it.
