  • Latest Syncrowave 210 software update (May 18, 16)

Does anybody know what exactly this software update changes from the last update?

    Edit:

FWIW....I just installed the latest update May 18, 16

From what I can tell, on the DC side my pps went from 0-50 to 0-150 after the update (I believe this is exactly what the accessory DC pulse expansion card upgrade accomplished)

On the AC side, the freq went from the factory 100hz to 60-150hz (I think this too was what the accessory AC expansion card upgrade accomplished)

I purchased my machine without the MIG option and when I turned the selector knob to the MIG spot, I saw some message......I don't remember what it was........saying that this optionnot available. After the update, all of the MIG features are operable.

H80, I havn't struck an arc yet but, my AC freq went from a static 100hz factory to an adjustable 60-150hz as displayed on my machine. The DC pps went from 0-50 to 0-150 as displayed on my machine. The MIG features are now all available as well. I have NO purchased expansion cards installed.

I was thinking about a Spoolmate 150 since the MIG feature LOOKS operable. My machine now has the ability to select a Spoolmate 100 or 150 in the MIG menu. Maybe you can advise me on this. It appears to connect the Spoolmate 150, I would need a 50mm dinse flow thru connector and a 4 to 14 pin connector.

Am hoping one of the Miller tech folks can answer most of this

Section 5-5 through 5-7 of the manual has the how to but no part numbers so you can order them

The Spoolmate 150 spec sheet shows a card (internal) and the dinse connector and plug to adapt to the non equipped 210's. I'll get part numbers soon. Probably just easier to get a 30A for my 252.

I got this clarification back from MILLER

IMHO... This makes the Syncrowave 210 a much more attractive choice

"Yes, the new update includes what normally would've been in the option cards.

We started shipping new Syncrowave 210's with all the features activated and thought it better to offer a free update for the older units to bring it up to par with the new units sold today."

That sucks. The new Syncrowave 210 we have sitting on the floor has too low of SN ME050117J for the upgrade to work. So how do you sell something thats an old model to a person that the new model with all the bells and whistles costs the same...Bob

Would it be worth throwing in the expansion cards to make that unit go away?

I am not sure if it would work. But I will check into it. Thanks...Bob
