  • Best Spoolgun for Millermatic 350P?

I would like to weld aluminum. 1/4" primarily, but I could see doing some 1/2" as well. And I would like to take full advantage of my Millermatic 350P.

What is/are the best spoolgun(s) for the Millermatic 350P?

Additionally, I have the single tank platform on my 350P. Is there an easy way to convert it to a dual tank platform?

Hey H80N: There is a Spoolmatic 30A and a Spoolmatic Pro 30A, but reviewing the spec sheets I can't tell what the differences are. Any clue?

I don't know the difference.... the split is a new development

maybe Cruizer or one of the Miller product people can clarify

BTW-FWIW.... you will see a LOT of MILLER Spoolmatic 30A guns attached to Lincoln welders...

but you will have a tough time finding any Lincoln spoolguns adapted to Miller machines...

the 30A is simply the best in the industry

And the Lincoln guns are rebranded MK units. Several companies put their name on them incl. Snap On, and HTP besides Lincoln.

I would suggest sticking with the standard Spoolmatic 30A or 15A. These are the spoolguns that the unit was developed with and they work very well on it. The Spoolmatic Pros have a different drive motor and gear box similar to the XR-Aluma-Pro guns.

Kevin thank you very much for your suggestion. As a consumer, I usually go with the latest and greatest model. But if the Spoolmatic 30A is the gun that the unit was designed for and thus may work better than the newer model Pro, I will likely go with the Spoolmatic 30A. This is the type of expert advice that I come here for. Thank you.
