  • What gun for M30E Millermatic wire feeder

    Hi,

I have a millermatic M30E wire feeder, Serial Number is HK343687
I need to get a gun for it, and can not figure out what one I need....I understand that Miller made a MMT-200, but it is long obsolete.
Does anyone know of another gun that will work?

Thanks in advance four your assistance Click image for larger version

Is there a hose from a gas valve to the Drive and gun socket? If so, take it by a welding supply store and have them try a gun with a standard Miller power pin. Make sure it fits right and the gas holes in the gun line up with the gas port in the gun mount. All the gun manufactures make a gun with a miller power pin.

ID:	571500 No there isn't a hose connection on the drive assembly......the hose connection is on the main box and an additional one that I'm not sure why its there.
I just purchased this wire feeder, and am trying to figure out how to get it working.....also does anyone know what the black box is for that was added that you can see in one of the original pics.

I have attached a pic of the drive assembly to this message as well.

      Thank you

Well that SN doesn't work and the pics are too small to see anything. For me anyways...Bob

          Found a manual. https://www.millerwelds.com/files/ow...O1235A_MIL.pdf
I helped a shop set up one of those old feeders yesterday. I ordered in a Miller gun but he was running huge wire. Any current Miller gun will fit it. What are you welding for gun size?..Bob

His had an old Tweco gun with a square Tweco adaptor block where the gun plugged in and the gas went into the side of the adaptor block. I removed the adaptor block and plugged in a Bernard gun with a Miller pin. There was a hose nub sticking out of the backside where the gun plugged in for the gas hose. I prob have the same feeder on a shelf but I can't see it until Monday...Bob

Look inside where the gun plugs in and see if there is a hole for the gas...Bob

Bob-just a note of thanks. Many people are benefitting from your new job not to mention your years of experience.

ID:	571515 Bob,

no there isn't a hole or the gas. I am planning to use for standard home work shop type of thing...so I believe a 200 amp gun should suit my needs.

also do you know why the guy I bought this from added this box and remote gas connection?

                  Thank you

I looked high up on a shelf at a feeder. Different number than yours but it also has a Tweco adaptor. But the adaptor only fits a Tweco gun. It also has a gas hose hook up where the gun plugs in. Wonder if i could drill a gas hole in yours and add a hose barb? I do have a machine shop also...Bob

It doesn't matter to me if I have a miller or Tweco gun,
do you know what part number the Tweco adaptor is?

Thank you for looking into it for me

The power pin for the welder is Tweco TMSAK-352 http://www.ebay.com/itm/TWECO-WIRE-F...-/310692020005 Then you will need the adaptor block for the gun to the power pin. The adaptor block has a gas hose hook up...Bob
