115 VAC receptacle from 14-pin

We have an XMT-350 that did not come with the built in 115 VAC receptacle option. We are getting sick of dragging around a 115 power chord for a grinder with the 480 V for the welder. The 14-pin control plug has 10 amps of 115 VAC available with a built in circuit breaker (it is shared with the built in receptacle in the models that include it.) So we are thinking of creating a 3 foot long, 14 wire chord with a 14 pin male on one end, and a box mounting a duplex receptacle and 14 pin female. I have two questions:

1- Does anyone sell an accessory like this so we do not have to spend time making it?
2- Does anyone know where we can get a short quantities of the 14 conductor chord?

There isn't any 115Vac on a XMT-350 14 pin. What you have to do is remove the cover, knock out the tabs on the back of the machine and wire a receptacle in yourself to the 10 amps circuit breaker

Why do you need the 14 conductor cord? Can't you just use a standard cord for an outlet?

Do what Cruzier Recommended. Let welder set over night unplugged. Then remove cover. How to wire in the plug is shown on the diagram pasted to the cover. Find the dotted line box near the line switch. only a few dollars for a receptacle at Lowes or Home depot. Get 15 amp plug only.

Thanks guys. Pin I and G are 115 VAC and neutral, K chassis ground. We only were thinking of the cable because we did not want to put holes in the back panel. Our back panel does not have knock outs stamped for a receptacle, I guess there are two versions of the back panel. We were going with 14 pin cable so the adapter would not limit the use of the 14-pin receptacle with other accessories. But you guys are right and were where making this harder than necessary. We will either borrow a die to knock out the two receptacle holes, or punch a single round hole and surface mount a box with receptacle on the back.

One the XMT 304, the 115 Vac is there, however on the XMT 350, the diagram nor pin outs show it. Easy to see, when you pull, the cover, nothing will be connected to the 10 amp breaker for an output.

And there are versions of the XMT-350 CC/CV that don't have 115VAC at the 14-pin.

The unit SN is what determines which manual/wiring diagrams are applicable to a specific machine. Several editions of OM-2247 show no 115VAC at the 14-pin. Others do so you can see how this can be confusing. SN is king.

But you're on the right track for a solution to your desired end.

I have a XMT304 that I'd like to add the 115 volt power outlet. Can you tell me how? Note* I'm a welder, not an electrician, but I have it opened up and can't see how to do it by the wiring diagram. Can I do it internally?
