  • First weld with new CST 280

Thanks guys for helping me decide which welder to get for my construction company. Truth be told - I welded in the marine construction biz when I was a young kid .. many moons ago. Hoever, this is the first time I picked up a stinger in over 20 years. Here is my first test weld on 6" pipe to 1/2" plate. Yes - I know I didn't remove the mill scale or prep. It was only a test to see if I could get back in the saddle.

I think it was a bit hot at 180 amps. 7018 (I forgot how forgiving it is). 1/4" fillet. Feel free to provide constructive feedback.

    Thanks,
    Buck

That welding machine is so so smooth, it is a pure delight. It has made me look like an expert. I also have a Dynasty 200DX, I thought that was a great stick welder but when I got the CST I was just blown away by it. Good decision, you will not regret the choice.
