I have a Millermatic Vintage model, 1994 model, Best welder I have ever used. It has a three position wire speed switch, high, low and aluminum. No plug for a spoolgun. What is the purpose of the alum wire speed? Just curious??

Miller went from a three position switch to a two. and made the middle range disappear.
might be the cost of the 3 position went way up and because of the target market they just changed it.
They used to say we could weld aluminum weld with a 10 foot miggun. It sorta works but it depends on the wire size, drive rolls, liner and you can't bend the miggun. Most people that have tried. spend more time clearing the bird nest at the drive than they do welding.Glenn 300 amp stick
