Thank you for your offering @ryanjones but i live in FL. I still do not have an answer on which to use? Any ideas? 4043 or A356

Where are you at Ron? If you're near me, I'll give you some 4943. I have used it with great success on some unknown type aluminum castings. I have also used 4043 with success though. But I'll be more than happy to share. I'm in Beaumont, Texas.

This is what I was basing my assumptions on..you can see filler A356 used with base metal 356 provides better strength and toughness capabilities than 4043....but then again this maybe used for the brand name MAXAL....idk I think I am just going to use 4043 since its been around more.

A356 is a casting alloy specification. Do they even make an A356 welding rod? If so what do they call it?
