Not impressed with Miller welders one bit. Less than a year ago I purchased a new syncrowave 210 worked for about 3 weeks had to return it and didnt get it back for a month. Two and a half weeks ago I purchased a new Dynasty 210dx it worked for two weeks and had to return it also, so basically the same problem as I had with my syncrowave less than a year ago. When I called Miller and talk to the service tech and I asked him if this is a common problem with the Miller machines all he said was is we have problems and that's I have a job. Really??? That's the answer after you spend all them thousands of dollars. I believe the error code on a dynasty was 1.4 .3 something about input power. The guy asked me if I'm sure I have power to my receptacle my answer was yes because when I plugged in my Lincoln welder at worked...... the only person that acted like he wanted to help is the guy at Roberts Oxygen when I called him said that they would get it out immediately when I bring it in, Great!!!!!!!A machine that's two weeks old I'm going to have a service tech in there with screwdrivers and electrical testers unacceptable a machine that is that new should go back to the factory and they should send me a brand new one no questions asked. Last week I was considering buying a new 252mig from Miller not considering that this week probably go back to red. I guess the lesson to be learned here would be buyer beware.. I would have to say after all the service work that needs to be done they do work good... two welders less than a year both have the same problem unacceptable!!!!!

Syncrowave works just fine ,and when that had to go back some power board went bad .since I got that back works just fine. By the way it is a really nice machine. ..and I am sure the dynasty is as good as all the hype but guess I'll have to wait and see...

What brand of plug did you put on it? I put a Cooper, which is a common brand, on mine. It has a minimum spec wire size of 10ga for the connections to fully tighten down. I had to double the stripped 12ga wires of the 210dx back on them selves to get a secure connection. I can see how it would be very easy to think they were secure, when the screw was simply bottomed out. Something to check maybe.....

Well, by chance did you happen to check your wall plug to make sure you were getting the adequate voltage?

Similar issue with some computer equipment years ago for me...kept burning up power supplies in one particular computer. Finally put a battery backup on it and discovered that every time a particular light was flipped on, it caused a quick under voltage. I only discovered this because I could now here the battery backup doohickey kick on when that switch was flipped. That computer very had another second of trouble after that.

Any mechanical device is subject to failure at any time of course. Just strange that it happened to you, exactly the same, twice. Coincidence? Hmmm.

Hope you get it handled though.

Thank you , I did check the voltage. And again after my syncrowave 210 was fixed it works fine .I was welding with yesterday. .for miller does stand behind their welders .... I can assure you that there's nothing wrong with my outlet my plug for my panel box.. I had it all checked out by an licensed electrician...

Man, unlucky. I hate it for you. Hopefully whatever machine you get next won't be a dud. One Saturday back in the 90s, I got three DOA alternators for a friend's bronco we were working on. Three of the same part, same manufacturer, in one day from the same parts house. Probably would've been four if they had anymore. Had to wait until Monday to get one from a different supplier and it was fine. So I feel your frustration. Although it was only a $99 part compared to your $$$$$...or whatever they cost.

Thank you guys ,,,,,, regardless what the problem is Miller will get it fixed and I'll get it right just like they did with my other machine. I just think it's shameful on Miller after two !weeks of having a machine and not even running 40 cubic feet of argon through it that it stops working .spending $4,000 on a machine and then have a guy put a screwdriver and electrical testers in there is unacceptable. under any circumstances that machine should go back to the factory and they should send a new one. You would think a company like Miller would want to get that machine back just to see why after two weeks it's not working at all .......

Just think, if you bought a Chicom POS, you'd be pissed and no one would hear you...good luck sending it back to Shanghai to get "fixed"Ryan

Defects happen... Any product... Any company
It's how they deal with them that separates the good from the bad
The bottom line is that MILLER stood behind the machine and Made It Right....
So what is the problem...??Last edited by H80N; 05-03-2016, 07:46 AM..

I believe you I get your frustration, but expecting a new machine as opposed to having a certified tech check into the problem, in my opinion, is a bit much. I just dropped a mint for a brand new RV motor home, with a Chevy chassis, and have had quite a bit of trouble with the chassis electrical system. I don't expect GM to pick the RV box off and set it on a new chassis. I do, however, expect them to do whatever they have to do to fix it just as you expect miller to. The trouble I have is with my local dealerships. Chevy corporate would love to wave their magic wand and make it all better, but the local places are not cooperating. I think maybe call Miller and ask for a supervisor and see if your case can be escalated? I just got off the phone with Chevrolet in Detroit and they assured me that they would make sure this machine gets in for repair even if that means they have to tow it to the moon.

I hope you get it worked out one way or another.

Okay I believe the problem is people on this forum don't comprehend what they read or they don't comprehend it very well because the problem is not fixed with my dynasty it's been in for service for a week and they haven't even looked at it yet .the machine they fixed was the syncrowave 210 when It had the same problem with that machine,,,Which I stated very clearly in my first post ...so that could be the problem
