  • Dynasty 200 Gas does not stop flowing

I pulled the welder out after not using it for about a year and seemed to work at first then I realized the gas was almost out. The first few tacks the gas flow as on/off like it should then it started flowing gas all the time. I refilled my tank hoping it was some issue with pressure but looks like its still just flowing all the time. Is this an easy fix or do I need to take it in to get services or something.

Possible gas solenoid stuck open, tap on it lightly and see if it closes.

99 times out of a hundred its a little piece of teflon tape stuck in the solinoid. the other 1% is a front panel timer issue

I'd bet $20 on the gas solenoid too. 99.99% there is crap stuck in it. I ALWAYS crack open the bottle valve before hooking it up to the regulator. Even so I just last week has a solenoid start sticking open on my small portable mig. I've also had a solenoid on my Dynasty 350 leak because the backing nut on the inlet had loosened and the solenoid was getting torqued so the valve wouldn't seat.

Hmmm. I have a slow leak in two Dynasty350s. I wonder if the solenoid backing nut got loosened.

My backing nut had loosened and I'm sure changing bottles, general moving around of the cart, too many tools in too small a shop banged something into it and twisted the valve inside the cover...The bracket that holds the blue solenoid to the gas fitting was slightly out of square and wouldn't seat all the way. I had to unscrew it, straighten the tabs and it's been working great for 2 years?
