  • Pressure Regulator Difficulties

I'm trying to get 25CFH on my new regulator. I can't get it to read any higher than 15CFH, but it sounds like it's really blowing out of the mig gun. Any idea what the problem might be?

Is this a pressure regulator or a flow meter?

what is the model number and where are you reading the output..??

Have you confirmed ACTUAL flow at the nozzle with a nozzle flowmeter..??

          they are inexpensive and handy

Have you measured ACTUAL gas flow with a nozzle flowmeter...??

            they are inexpensive and handy

50020 Shield Gas Flow Test Gauge Is your gas flow meter accurate? How do you know what the actual gas flow rate at the torch is? Shield Gas Flow Test Gauges accurately and conveniently measure your gas flow rates at the torch where it matters most! This easy to use device will take the guesswork out of optimizing your welds, and save you money on shield gas. The benefits of measuring and documenting flow rates – at the torch – will pay off with reduced weld variations and lower gas usage. Measures Argon and Co2 Flow Rates up to 25 LPM (52 CFH) Cubic Feet per Hour. To Convert to LPM (Liters per Minute) Multiply CFH x 0.72

Another thing to check - if your "flow" meter has scales for both LPM and CFH, make sure you're using the right scale - if you set 25 LPM you'll be getting about 55 CFH... Steve
