MILLER VINTAGE NO GAS COMMING OUT!!

Hi Everyone,
I am having Trouble with my Miller Vintage Mig welder, it has only been lightly used ist roughly 5 or 6 years old. I have wire feed but no gas is comming out (I am running straight c02), The bottle is not empty. Hopefully someone can help me out.

I forgot to mention it is the millermatic vintage.... the new replacement of the millermatic 250! Hope this makes sense!

Serial number on newer machines should be on a black and white label on the rear of the machine similar to this pic..
Older machines will have serial stamped into the tin front panel (blackface or white)

There are several iterations of this "Vintage" model... the serial allows us to look at the correct manual/docs

Sorry for the late reply.... For some reason I can not find the Serial number..... I bought this machine used and am getting a Little worried!

Have you checked to see if you have 115 VAC to the valve when the trigger is pulled?

I would be worried too...!!!.

should not be difficult to locate the serial number....

if it has been removed, damaged or obscured... you may have a stolen machine...

that would be bad news....and if that were the case I sure would not touch it

BUT my guess is that you have just not looked close enough

I had a gas issue with my machine...everything seemed to check out OK, but it turned out to be a not very significant looking kink in the line right where it leaves the machine. Didn't look like much, but then it didn't take much to block off the gas flow. Other than that, I can be of no help what with the lack of info/symptoms, etc..

Bottle is on? Regulator is turned up to 20cfh +/- ? When you pull the trigger do you hear the solenoid clicking? If not then check to see if you have power to it. Be very careful when the covers are off & it is plugged in. If you are not comfortable with that then get someone who is.

If solenoid is clicking remove hose from solenoid that goes to the gun. Do you have gas coming out of the solenoid when trigger is pulled? If not then remove hose from rear of solenoid. Turn on gas bottle & make sure regulator is turned up some. Do you have gas coming out of the hose? If so you have a blockage in the solenoid. Try blowing some air through it both ways while pulling the trigger to unblock it.

Remove gun from drive but leave it plugged in electrically. (When doing this test & all others the welding wire will be live when trigger is pulled so you should remove the welding wire to keep from shorting anything) Turn on gas & pull trigger. Do you have gas coming out of the drive? If not check incoming hose for kinks or blockages. If you do then install the gun making sure it is all the way seated in the drive. Pull trigger & you should have gas coming out of the nozzle. If not you probably have a blockage in the gun somewhere.

All tests where the trigger is pulled should be done with the machine plugged in & turned on.
