The little bottle on the Passport never really was enough for me. I just loved the portability of the Pelican case, and the sweet arc. I actually find myself using the Multimatic [and previous Passport] over my 350P because of the smaller gun for all the day to day little things.

I liked my 200 but time has taken its toll. Still not sure which one to get between the 210 and 280 need the extra amps on the 280 but no 120 volt input is a downer. Just had to take my passport in for repairs needs a $500 board plus labor.

New Dynasty 210 DX
ok - just picked up my new Dynasty 210 DX from my local welding distributor.

Haven't run it through all the tests, but here is what I have done so far:
(All tig as I can't do stick to save my life.)
DC - tested pulse function, non-pulse mode, lift arc and HF start ( this has Blue Lightning feature)
all is good - machine is better than me as I am and always will be the the limiting factor.
AC - tested at 60, 150, 200 Hz - all at advanced squarewave waveform.
tigs like butter - again I am the idiot behind the mask so take these observations
with a pound of salt.
Love it and got it as I need 120 VAC operation on some occasions.
Menus are 99% similar to my 350 so it was easy to figure it out.
(Remember - who reads the instruction manual?)
I will be happy to run any tests for others as this gives me an excuse to play.
Here's what I have,
stainless sheet/plate in unknown alloys from .020" to .50"
(I'm guessing mostly 300 series as it is non-magnetic but remember, I'm the "Clouseau" of tigging.)
Wire in 304, 312, 316, from .035 to .065.
Alum sheet in 1/8" in 6063.
some unknown alloys in .040" and the like.
Wire in 4043, 4943, and 5356.
titanium sheet 6al-4v in .050", .120".
scraps in 1/4" to 3/8"
Wire in CP, 6al-4v.
PS - I have my 2008 Dynasty 350 workhorse and now the 210 DX and have still to run
either using stick mode.
I'm sure either will perform better than me.
Hope you all are well and have a happy and safe new year.Tags: None
