    For one thing it's a warranty issue, so best not screw with it internally. Basically being a tech and all, I'd be seeing if the wire can curl in the palm of your hand easily without slipping, cause that's what the problem sounds like. may also be a crap ground / work clamp as the stock ones always are. Best get the brass ones.

    I meant the MIG Gun "Whip" on the feeder.............. sometimes it is the really simple stuff..that bites you... pretty easy to damage the gun by pulling... on it..

    also pulled, blew out, reinserted all plugs on pcb1 in power supply. do not have another power supply of similar vintage to try switching out pcb1 board.

    Have you pulled the cover... blown it out with compressed air and checked the contactor ...??

    deltaweld 452

    working on a deltaweld 452 with s74s wire feeder, both recent models S.N."s start with ME2. operator complaining of cold start, wire not hot on trigger pull. once it does start welds great. sometimes starts fine other times not so well. cleaned all terminals checked all connections everything seems good. any ideas out there?
