Hi, this newbie is trying to learn the business. I am TIG welding aluminum pipe in a tube mill and we have a fair number of misfires at startups.
We grind the zirconiated tungsten electrode to a sharp tip. I have Miller 700 Dynasty welders. I believe I have a good ground. What are leading caused for misfires?

If by "Misfires" you mean hard arc starts.... it is possible that you have Dynastys that are pre "BLUE LIGHTNING".... that is an enhancement that allows easier ac starts

    Check your serial number

Go into your menu and turn up your start-amps and increase your start-time as well. That is if your machine is pre- Blue Lightning.
