Millermatic 211 will not weld.

I,m with Kevin, suggesting that the trigger leads are shorted with the guns internal conduit. This is caused by dragging the machine around with the gun cable. Pretty easy to fix though.

TR,
With the Auto-set light working we know the board is getting the 24 volt supply and you said you checked the trigger circuit all the way back to the board. I would suggest double checking the trigger leads in the gun cable to make sure neither of them are shorted to the weld cable inside the gun. After you make that check give me a call, PM me or e-mail me directly and we can go from there. Ph: 920-735-4505 e-mail: [email protected]

Was it plugged in before you borrowed it? Have there been any lightning storms or power outages since the last time your son used it?

I also have power cycled the machine several times and the spool gun/WELD switch is in the proper position and has no effect which position I put it into. I also checked it to the Circuit board and it is good all the way to the connector.
he is a trained Miller tech who has helped many

Milllermatic 211 with MVP.
Unit turns on but will not weld and no drive motor operation no gas flow valve actuation.
I have a transformer unit when I turn it on fan runs lights on control panel light up but I pull the trigger and nothing happens.
I have done the following troubleshooting.
Trigger switch signal is good all the way to PCB.
Overheat sensors are good all the way to PCB.
Spool gun switch good and normally open all the way to PCB.
Gas valve good ohms but never actuates.
Drive motor not frozen ohms good. never actuates.
Rheostats for wire drive speed and amperage control work fine no open spots ohms rise and fall with rotation.
AUTO weld lamp lights up when set to this position.
Removed PCB and looked for blown transistors and resistors, back of PCB has no scorched solder joints and is clean and shiny.
Connectors to PCB from chassis components look fine no wires pulled out/loose. Wiring looms clean and fresh.
When overheat sensor is disconnected to rectifier chassis, lamp on front panel DOES NOT FLASH.
Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

"Wizard" is the right moniker for him, as he seems to have quite a bit of technical knowledge. So does Duane. Almost like they've been around a while.

I don't know if its under warranty or not. The unit isn't mine its my son's who is deployed.
I borrowed it from him.
Thanks in advance.
View the Miller serial number chart to see when your product was manufactured. Use the serial number and/or the style number to identify the year. Learn more.
Hopefully Cruizer checks in on this.... he is our resident service/repair wizard....

Cruizer will be the one with the definitive answer when he sees your post but it sounds like you have checked most of the obvious things. Please post a ser no. - that is always necessary for him to help. Also, try calling Miller. They are super to work with. 920-734-9821. Is the machine still under warranty?
