From a phone, you need to go through the browser and select the "view full website" option to upload and have the pics show up in the thread without links. Otherwise you are posting from the "https://m.webpage" indicating it's from a mobile device, rather than a PC (https://webpage)

H80N has helped me figure out the resizing thing. But from the iPhone app, nothing you can do. If you try and post a picture, it comes out itty bitty.

Why is this the only forum, of the dozens I frequent, with these recurring issues of posters not being able to post pictures we can see, unless I guess they find these instructions on how to do things differently than all the other forums? This is especially sad because this forum didn't use to have these issues, until someone changed something.

Miller Guidelines for photo size.
If you are uploading a jpg attachment, the max. file-size is 512000 bytes. The maximum width and height (in pixels) is 730. If your file exceeds these limits, you will need to resize the image.
Here is a test to see how posting same photo as "Small", Medium" "Large" affects how they look after posting.
Photo dimensions: 725 pixels/inch x 725 pixels/inch.
Resolution: 200 pixels/inch.
Photo size: 3.625" x 3.625"
625 KB
Posted as small, medium, large,

Also have to take bandwidth into consideration, we have no idea what they have available and/or dedicate to us chatterboxes lol.
Usually these rules are left over from the dial up days (56k, no way!). hehe
As I said, there should be some kind of auto-size feature depending what VB system they are using here.Last edited by H80N; 12-24-2016, 10:29 AM.

The only drawback to this is on an informational/tutorial thread that you would like the pics to stay here with the forum. If the hosting site ever changes the link, or if a person moves a pic in photobucket/flickr/hosting site, the pics will be gone from the forum. In the automotive forums we try to encourage members to upload for this reason, but with modern super-high res pics, they eat up valuable server space. This forum asks for usually small pics, that cannot even be seen.
Perhaps a middle-of-the-road approach? Either use the resize option in the bulletin board software, or allow slightly larger pics? Currently an uploaded pic comes out he size of a stamp on most screens.

It also works with ANY pic from the internet. For instance, go to Google, search for something, then click "view image". From there, you can copy your url into the [IMG][/IMG] brackets like so:
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/07...g?v=1449455037
Put like this (without spaces near the brackets):
[IMG ]https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0783/2013/products/pro-table-kit-3-x4-large-heavy-duty-welding-table-top-kit-certiflat-by-tab-slot-u-weld-1_2048x2048.jpeg?v=1449455037[ /IMG]
Than it turns into THIS!

I hate having to click on photos to see them in a decent size. Why can't we all just use [img]{picture link**[/img] code to have them show up in-line within the post? Soooo much better for ease of navigation. And you don't have to resize anything? Surely everyone has a Photobucket/Flickr account, right?

Microsoft Office has a picture editor that can do re-sizing of multiple pictures all at the same time, and then you can "save as" to save it as a duplicate. Surely everyone has Microsoft Office right?
