  • New to the forum . NEED HELP FIXING MY BIG 30 MACHINE !

I recently acquired a Miller Big 30 Diesel welding machine Serial # JJ326172 , it needs a waterpump . I bought the machine as is "project" Owner told me it needed a water pump . He had the original water pump but misplaced it , so now that i have the machine , I have no idea on how to go about finding the correct water pump , nothing to compare and match up against . Can anyone here help me in finding the correct waterpump ? Maybe on ebay or another site ?

I have no doubt that someone here can help you. Most of the time, they need your serial number to look up the exact machine you have.

Yup.... posting your serial number is first step...

next I would download the manual here

      https://www.millerwelds.com/en/suppo...uals-and-parts

making sure to plug in the serial# to get the correct version...

post some pics of the welder and engine

      any engine data plates..??

This looks like the proper manual to match your "JJ" serial number..

I could be mistaken but I believe that the engine is a PERKINS 4.108

a very popular engine in marine and industrial applications.. so parts are readily available..

            http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...4.108&_sacat=0

if you confirm that it is a 4.108 here is a link to a water pump

You are correct . It is a Perkins 4.108 .
Numbers on Perkins block read . ED70190U
Then second set of numbers under that read 632016P

Got the new water pump ordered and now installed . Wasn't perfect match on the pulley but was able to find a pulley . Machine now runs great , had it on a test run for 90 minutes and the temperature stayed at 190 degrees. I did notice that the engine was idled high and never idled down . I'll take a pic of the part that I believe I may need , just don't know how to go about buying it since I have no clue what it's called . Lol

Looks like the cap is Miller 605982 from the manual H80N posted the link to. Miller4less has it and it's listed as a 7-lb cap.
