I have only tried an inverter with 7018 1/8 vertical up on 1/4" t joint. I was in the cellar. It generated so much smoke I had to stop. This was my first inverter powered real application of stick. The power was constant, free of flutter as in transformer, or Bobcat power. Dig is a very cool feature! With the bobcat I was sticking the rod often while starting the arc. The dig feature eliminates this. It does seem very hot. I ran 110 amps, where I run 120 with the Bobcat.

I use my Maxstar 200 LX with 6010 all the time, and it's fifteen years old. It would seem logical that the newer inverters should be an improvement?

I did try. I have no idea what it means when they say inverters don't run 6010 well. This runs as smooth as the antique Westinghouse 6 cylinder, but with dig. I'll call it a success.

I should work great with 1/8".
Give it a try. You can always run it off of the Bobcat.

    Dynasty 280DX & 6010

Has anyone tried it? I've got neighbors this weekend, (I don't always). We share a 15 KW transformer. It's the Bobcat making noise, or Dynasty making small impact on the transformer with inverter consumption. Will it work?
