  • Millermatic 350 converted to 350p issue

Bought a nice Millermatic 350 and converted it to a 350P by adding the Miller pulse board to it (part# 239886)
Machine runs great with the aluma pro gun until you go to pulse mode then the problems begin. First off not getting any pulse in pulse mode. Second)get bad burn back and melted tip. Third) When I set the machine up in the settings for the aluma pro gun after making an attempt to use it and go back into the settings it shows the gun is set for a Python and not the aluma pro. Since buying this machine (used) with only 115 hrs on it this machine has been setup to run aluminum wire only through the aluma pro. Running 5356 .035 wire. Also can not find in the settings anywhere in the machine after the board upgrade to set the sup value! Does add this board make it pick it up automatically?

There have been few threads on the subject.... as I recall there were some firmware motherboard issues...
here is one old thread ....

A place to talk about how-to, techniques, troubleshooting, welding processes, welders, plasma cutters or other metalworking tools.

I have read several boards where others have successfully converted them over with the simple swap. I was hoping it was that easy but of course it probably isn't lol.

You might want to post your serial#..... so that Cruizer or some other Miller tech can give you more specific info....
