This was esabs version on the MM 250. It only lasted a year before esab got the message. (and a black eye too) Somebody going to be really pissed and somebody is going to be real happy to see it leave.

He not, that is for handling if you read the fine print. I don't think it's worth the $25.00 for the whole package.

Based on the user ID's sale history and feedback, I'd say that maybe he picked that machine up with a "lot" of stuff. Probably knows little about it functionally. Buyer beware, esp. after it brought what it did. hehehe

Scott, the MM 250 and the ESAB Migmaster 251 seem to be about the same vintage ( early to mid 90's), so now, I m wonder if Lincoln did any better with there offering in this amperage class back then.

I can tell you right now, if it was my choice, I'd sell the darn MM 250 at work and probably replace it with a MM 251 possibly a PM 255 C if i could get my hands on one to test drive. A MM 350 would be nice but we really don t need a machine any larger then a MM 251. Yes, I know there is an ESAB unit out there that you want me to get my hands on , however, the Boss at work is a Miller or Lincoln man. You know, i find it strange that i have better units to weld with at home then i do at work. Heck, when I took my unique MM 175 to work, and we used it for a little while on a job, my one friend stated, that we didn t have anything at work (MM 185, MM 250) with that good of arc quality. The time that i really blew him away though was when i took my sweet little Maxstar 150 STH in for him to tryout.

I never ran the Lincoln version but they had the one on the floor next to the MM-250 when I bought my Migmaster 250.
Info from my friend about those units was it was even worse then the
MM-250. It was sort of the same deal for Lincoln as the Miller. Miller
had the MM-200 and Lincoln had the SP 200 at the time, and it was
too much change for both of them. The Esab on the other hand came from the
L-tec 250 and the Linde 225 without a whole lot of changes.

I seen a average 225 go for $900 at the welding store. The reason, it is not like a 210 miller or 215 in output.

Those early 90s 250 size units for all of us were part of a large growing pain in that size solid state phase controlled package. I'm glad we are over that. The 251 is lightyears away from the 250s and I know the Lincoln is way better than years past too. Haven't test drove the new ESABs yet.
