  • Lincoln Factory (Arcdawg)

    Arcdawg,

What you saw in the lincoln factory, in Cleveland, was only a portion of the products that Lincoln sells. They have a factory in Mexico, and they buy alot of equipment from Essetti in Italy and another supplier in France. Yes they also buy from China.

Might as well include Esab. The standard 250 migmaster is made in Mexico too.
They import stuff from Italy, Hungary, Sweden, Thailand, etc...
I do know they brought in some little plasma cutters from Sweden and they were not too hot, then they built same model in South Carolina and they are pretty good now.

        Yes that's it.
Generally the Sweden stuff is pretty good. I had (girlfriends now) a 160i tig that is a very good unit.

The 380 one is still a import and prone to blow up real good!!!!! (Loud)
Last time I checked it, about six months ago.

"Made in the USA" was one reason I choose the Dynasty over the T/A. Whether it really is completely made here by Americans, I don't know, but hope so.

I bought the Thermal TSW 300 because it's a great unit in it's own right. Beside Japan is one of our trading partners and also is not quite like buying from a country like China. One we will be going to war with soon enough.

No much is really made in the USA anymore, It might be assembled and designed in the USA, but thats about it. I don't care who's brand it is, Most of if not all the circuit board components are made somewhere else, the drive motors for the wire feed units tend to come out of China, least that's what it says on the back of them. It's a business. Gotta make money. I import lots of electronics out of China and Thailand. Customers don't care, as long as it works and the price is right.

The Dynasty and all our domestic machines are made here in the USA. Appleton Wisconsin by Americans. Now as stated, there are componants that are made elsewhere. There is a percentage by law that you have to stay UNDER in order to use the Made in USA label. All our units stay under this import parts percentage.
