  • Welding mask cleanup

i was just wondering if any of you know how to get those little specks of spatter that form on your mask when welding off, i really dont know of any thing so any ideas would be a great help.

A lot of the time, those specks are slightly melted into the cover lens. It's just best to replace the clear cover lens with a new one. They are made to be expendable.

elbow grease and a multi surface cleaner or praxair makes a good replacement clear lens that is thicker and better the most to clean
to weld or not to weld that is the question

            its not the lens.

its not the lens that is gettin spatter on it , well i does but i replace those every so often.

but its the mask itself thats gettin little specks in it.

this may sound **** but i have a stars and stripes and i wanna keep it pristine.

maybe its just gettin old. ive had it for a couple of years now.

            sorry about the confusion ..

They will get pock marks and blotches no matter what you do, I got tired of my Speedglas looking bad so I started a new paint job on it should finish it tomorrow and will post a pic when its done. For your stars-n-stripes can't help much since they are either machine painted or decaled, can't tell which.

I have a stars and stripes and it hasn't seen enough duty to be messed up, but now that Judie is feeling better she wants to learn to weld so it should see some serious action soon!!!

              Peace
