  • Sheet metal brake nosebar repair

    I am looking to repair a damaged nose bar by grinding off high spots and filling indentations.I dont know how the heat will afect the trueness of the brake.I also will need to know what filler to use.My weld choice as of now is to tig weld it.

    I wouldn't weld them unless you already ground it. When i worked in the sheet metal shop we used to just peen the metal back into place with a hammer and back up bar. The dies used to get beat up bending insulated panels when the nails fell off and got caught under the punch (top die)...Bob

      Thanks,I just bought the brake for $400.00 and havent seen it yet.I am told that it's in very good shape and the foto looks good but I have my doughts.
