Info Miller 180sd

Hi my name is chris and i just got hooked up on this board !!! Let me say i really like it so far !!! Anyway i just got a 180 tig welder from miller. i was woundering how thick will this weld on alummium @ SS

ive been told 1/8 on alummium abd 1/4 SS and some other people at a local welding shop told me 3/16 on alummium and 1/4 on SS....

any info would help thanks !!!!!!!!!! chris

Chris, I have a syn 180 and never had any trouble welding 3/16 Al, other than the torch gets pretty hot so watch the duty cycle. Could not tell you on SS but these guys are experts and somebody will chime in.
