I have found an exellent close-out deal on a brand-new Spoolmate 185 ($170.00). Looking over the documents on the Miller web site, I can see no significant differences between the Spoolmate 185 and the Spoolmate 3035 except that the 185 comes with a gas valve diverter for use with the Millermatic 185.

Any comments/suggestions/information regarding these two guns? I will use this with my 135 to weld *light* aluminum for non-structural purposes (under 1/8"). Any assistance is appreciated.

I dont think the gun will work with this welder, not enough power, buy the gun and I will buy it from you, plus a finders fee
    Let me know

I would just save my pennies and get a teflon liner for the MM135. Your alu capacity will be 1/8 max. I have been welding alu most of the day with my MM135. All I'm doing is using .030 4043 and a teflon liner in the M-10 gun and having at it. You have to put up with the occasional birdnests, but I will do that over spending more money on spoolgun and controller than the welder cost....esp for such a limited application.

BTW, with the .030 wire, anything above 8.5 on the voltage and I can blow through 1/8 material if the bead is longer than 2".

The mm135 is going to be very low on power for driving the the spoolgun and welding aluminum takes alot of power. You may get fusion on some level but it will be limited.
