The upgrade to the 210 is good, for steel. It has some uses for aluminum but welding on motorcycle frames wont be one of them. Thats TIG work.
I agree, but if you need to build a boat, or in my case, a boat launcher from thicker aluminum the 210/3035 combo is just right IMO. But like you have said before, the need for most guys to do aluminum is overblown
I have been thinking about buying a Tig welder to weld alum. in my home shop. I was going to take a lenghty class on TIG at the local community college and purchase a Tig machine after the class. But now I am thinking about the MM 210 with a spool gun and 2 bottles. I currently have a MM130XP and would like to weld thicker steel so I thought the 210 could work for both. I have never welded alum. and would like to use it to repair motorcycle frames and things like that . My Question is. What is the difference in the quality of welds between Mig and Tig?
