That is a great question and the answer is a somewhat expensive one. The Bobcat requires the WC 115A weld controller with a contactor. It is part number 137 546-01-1.
Do you already have a 30A gun? If not the 3545 spoolgun (part number 195 015) and the SGA100C (part number 043 857) is probably a cheaper route to go. However, the 30A has a much better duty cycle and top amperage rating.
I had a Bobcat 225NT and wanted to put a 30A spoolgun on it. However, when I checked my options of the 115C weld controller against buying a Trailblazer 301 (now a 302) the newer machine was the best option for me. The Trailblazer requires the WC-24 controller to run the 30A. This is a $200 piece as oppossed to a $1000 WC 115A w/ Contactor for the Bobcat. I put my money into the TB301 and came out about the same since I was able to get very close to what I paid out of the Bobcat. Food for thought.
Thanks for the reply,I already have the 30A and I figured that was what I needed just wanted to make sure.I'll check with my dealer tomarrow and see how much I can get it for.And thanks again for the info.
You need a wc-115Vac kit with built in contactor, as the Bobcat won't have a contactor circuit. If you already happen to have a WC-24, then, all you'll need is a 115/24 Vac stepdown transformer. Can't remember the Miller#, but its easy to build one anyways, though you won't have contactor control, ie, the wire will be live all the time.
Last year when I was thinking about doing it was going to cost me about $660.00 now its going to cost me $785.98 with out the contactor. That being said I ordered the setup.I'll just have to run without it for awhile buisness is real slow this time of the year here.I.ll get the contactor later.Thinks for all the help guys and the fast replays.I'll post a pic when I get it.My dealer said about 2 days...........
My supplyer just called told me only needed the one with the built in contactor part number 135 546-01-1 And that was all I needed! Stell the same price but nothing else to buy. That works great for me!!.................
