  • Thanks, Mig!

[Cross post from the hobart board]
    Hey mig,
Sorry it's taken so long to reply, school work and the girlfriend have kept me busy. I've been just staring at it all day! Haha. No, what's really been keeping me from replying is my new job over at the bikeshop. We're adding on a huge 12'x60' extension so we can fit more bikes, and I've been there for many nights. I'm sorry again for the long delay, I feel terrible. I can't get the 240v hooked up until later this month/next month, so I'll just have to wait for it, but I've already made sure the welder will be kept fine in storage until then. WOW that unit looks great! I really can't wait to fire it up and burn some rods! I can't do that until my prescription safety glasses get fixed though (lenses shattered). Mig, I didn't get any more emails from you (I check daily), what address did you send them to? sorry again. Thank you so much for sending me this, it really has made my year. I already have people asking for trailers this summer, so my summer should be a fun one! Again, I really appreciate how this board's members have come together. Like I said before, if Ebay needs a new "People are good." ad, they should really interview you guys. Thank you so much for all the help guys, who knows, maybe I'll see you on a job someday!
    Sincerely,
    Tanner Gregory

For those of you who don't know, Mig was kind enough to ship me his old stick welder, and ~20lbs of electrodes, FOR FREE! I'm forever grateful to Mig. Mig, could you email me your address? The DHL tag got a bit shredded during shipping, and I can't read it. I'd like to send you somethings for the holidays.

Hey Tanner, I am not MIG, but I am glasd you gotg yourself a welder. I was also wondering how your trip to Scotland went. I was planning on going back this year to compete in the World Championships (for pipe bands) but it looks like I will have to wait another year, as we just had another baby.
    Happy sparks, Andy.

Andy, what band are you in? My wife teaches at St. Thomas Episcopal in Houston whose band is 4 time Juvenile World Champion.

Scotland was fantastic! I was only in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and the only pipers I saw were from india. Then in London I saw some more, but from London. Heh, who knew?

I played in the Mesa Caledonian band at the time. We saw the St Thomas Juvenile band there. They really are a world class band, and could beat many of the upper end adult bands. If you ever get to listen to them, know that you are listening to great bagpipe music. I have competed solo against one of the Cusaks years ago, and they are a tough act to follow. Glad you had a great trip!
