  • Making my mm251 weld thin aluminum?

After seeing arcalaska's cool boat. I was wondering if there is any way to add an inverter/pulser to my mm251? I mostly tig aluminum but for large projects the 350p seems the only way to go. I believe this is not possible, but thought I would ask. Thanks in advance for your input.

How thin do you need to go?

This is non pulsed .062 with .030 4043 wire.

If you really wanted pulse with that machine you could look for a stand alone MK pulse box. It would work with a standard type machine and a inverter too.
You just could not pulse as fast a inverter machine can. They were $2000.00 when new. MK discontinued them and sold them for a grand. If you could find one on ebay for cheap it would be interesting.

In fact here is one that is says it is tig. It's for mig.

You should be able to read the manual on-line.

Time to trade in that mm251 for that mm 350P.
