First post to this site, and I must say this has been one of the best sources of welding/welder information i have found on the net.

Going to write my first year apprentiship exam on Monday and hope to be starting second year in the next month.

I will be purchasing my first "true blue" machine soon...the syncro 250. I have been checking the forums recently and have seen may a heated debate between the syncros and the dynastys. Second year is mainly TIG and i thought that i needed a machine that i could grow into not grow out of.

Will be checking in often, and thanks for a site that all levels of welders can feel at home.

Welcome, and congrats on your up coming purchase. I have 2 syncrowaves and enjoy them both. What types of material will you be welding primarily?

hope to be welding Al on Mtn. bike frames and Ski-doo pieces there should be a market up here for that kind of stuff...

Already welded frames or will you be building new frames? Got to keep in mind heat treatment
