  • Blondie_486 finally back online again.

    Hello everyone,

I suppose ya'll thought I'd dropped off the face of the earth or something? Or perhaps ya'll forgot all about me?

Well I'm still here and finally back online. A lot has happened since I was last online. First off my ex whom I'd been with for 6 1/2 years decided one day she wanted to call it quits and gave me 30 days to leave the house. That left me bouncing around till I could find another place. I've gone from a house with a basement and garage to a mobile home with an 8' x 8' storage barn. Needless to say most of the tools and equipment I was able to rescue are now packed away in my brother's barn. Hopefully soon I'll be able to find a piece of land which I can move the mobile home onto and construct my idea of a garage so I'll have a place to work. I'm still set on building custom bikes as before but will have to do it out of a friend's garage and limited space.

I started a new job in May working for a company that manufactures aluminum dump and flatbed trailers in Randolph Ohio, I shouldn't have to say the name because they're all over the place just read the mudflaps. I work in the frame department and make the frames and subframes for the aluminum dump and frameless dump trailers. I'm MIG welding aluminum daily but really miss TIG welding. In looking back sometimes I regret leaving my other job as it was something different every day and I got to do a lot of TIG welding (I guess I'll just have to start my own shop?).

In October on my way home from my best friend's house I turned the corner at the intersection for my street to go home and from nowhere I was "T boned" and found myself spinning in circles. At first my injuries seemed minor but I had a pain in my neck which continued to get worse with time rather than better. I also noticed my hands going numb frequently and loss of grip in both hands, I can't even pick up my rifle with one hand anymore. Right before New Year's day I had an MRI done and the results show I have 3 herniated disks in my neck and are most likely going to have to be removed and replaced with titanium disks. I guess I won't be flying anywhere as I won't be able to get through the metal detector at the airport . I go to see the surgeon next month to find out what they're going to do and what affect it's going to have on me. I find it extremely difficult to work anymore as I can't really nod my head anymore to flip my helmet down so I've got it set so loose it falls down by it's self but that gets to be a pain when trying to positon crossmembers prior to tacking. Perhaps it's time to look into an E-hood?

Well sorry for dragging on and on but just wanted to let everyone know I'm back online again and will be stopping in as time permits but lately we've been on mandatory 12 hour shifts which leaves me time to shower, check e-mail real quick and get to bed so I can do it all over again. I'll try to check in as often as I can. If anyone wants to e-mail me off the board go to my profile and use the e-mail link.

    Catch ya'll later

Thanks everyone for the welcome back and concern for my neck injury. I've been through some tough times but always manage to bounce back and somehow I'll bounce back from this one too. My biggest problem is when I have the surgery what am I going to do with all of that time until I can return to work?? Perhaps I'll spend a lot of time at the rifle range??

                        Anyway thanks for the concern!

                              Blown S10,

I shoot pretty much everything. I shoot rifles, pistols, shotguns and muzzleloaders. I currently have a match grade .22 rifle and hope to shoot in some matches this year. I'm looking for a .22 match grade pistol and a .45 pistol as there is a meet in Ohio this summer for pistol that you shoot 3 legs with 2 with rimfire (.22) and one with centerfire. I'm also scrounging up parts to build a couple of custom rifles also one in 223 cal and the other in 308 winchester. I'm hoping to shoot the 223 in the 100 to 400 yard ranges and the 308 in 600 yard range.

It's just a hobby mostly I don't hunt as I couldn't kill an animal but shooting at targets is fun. I like to shoot in turkey shoots with the shotgun and am going to try my hand at shooting trap and skeet this year also provided my neck heals up in time.

                              Catch you later
