    Steve,
    Welcome aboard!!

Good question. You are right on for the pulser for timing bead placement and less heat input to the piece. You could even drop your pps to .9 if you want to go slower but if you can keep up at 1.2, go for it. For different bead looks you can just increase your pps. When you get real high, above 200pps, the pulser will aggitate the weld puddle to help float impurities up the the surface with aluminum and give you a better bead structure.

Sounds like you are moving right along, keep it up!

Hayes I would like to help you but I still am struggling with aluminum, and the pulse/balance. From what I've read though it sounds like your really close to right on the settings!

BTW I wasn't ignoring you but I thought one of the more advanced aluminum welders might comment.

    Peace,

started a topic Dynasty 200DX Pulser

    Dynasty 200DX Pulser

I have owned a 200DX for about a year now and have no complaints. I am a full time Firefighter and a part time welder (hobbyist) who seems to get in over my head a lot when it comes to welding projects. My question today is about the pulse feature on the 200DX. I am welding some .125, 6061 aluminum... My machine is set at: 140 Amps, Balance 75%, AC Frequency 115, PPS 1.2, PEAK time 60%, Background Amps 30%.

The machine is performing pretty well at these settings, but I would like to get some input from other Dynasty owners as to what works well for them.

I am a new member to this forum and I would like to say thanks to all of the members for sharing their expertise. I am fairly new to all of this and it really helps to read the messages posted on this forum.

    Thanks,

    Steve
