  • New Here

Hello, I am new to this board ( just found it ) & would like to get some input. I know there is someone out there that owns a dynasty 200dx & a lincoln 275 with micro start. I am thinking of updating my tig unit & would like to talk with someone that has had more then a test drive on these units.
    Thanks gregg

      Gregg,

I just happen to have both of those units in service. I have had my PT 275 for about 3 years and my 200DX for about 6 months. I really like both of these machines and would be sad to not have either one. They are, however, quite different animals. If you have some specific questions I would be happy to try and answer them.

As Blown S-10 said, welcome to the forum. There are lots of good folks here and you will find a wealth of information.

            Welcome Spoolup89!

            What took you so long

The two machines you are trying to compare are quite different as KB says. You really aren't camparing apples to apples.
One machine is an inverter while the other is solid state squarewave. It would be a better comparison to do the Syncrowave to the Precision Tig. Same type of technology. That said, the Dynasty will out perform the PT at a givin amperage. The PT will however, go up to a higher maximum amperage. The PT draws ALOT more power from the wall than the Dynasty and the Dynasty have wave shaping and output frequency adjustments that the PT does not.
Keep reading, you will find a ton of stuff here.

            Good luck

            Andy

              Thanks To All That Replied

Thanks again for the welcome. Don't get me wrong on the blue & red debate.I own 3 blue to 0 red.The unit I was thinking on replacing is a 1989 miller 350 sync. The lack of a pulser on it is #1 reason.( tried & miller no longer has this ) #2 is age. Being that 90% of my welding is 1/4 & under aluminum a pulser is a must if I buy.I understand it is hard to compare the two machines. I just don't want to make a 3000.00 mistake if you get my drift. Maybe I can rent a dynasty for a week?

              Thanks again

                Spoolup89:
Where do you live, we have Dyansty owners everywhere. It may not be a loaner for a week but it would get you some hands on.

Spoolup89, the PC-300 pulser will work with you machine acording to the 1992 manual for the Synchrowave 350. It is not an internal pulser, but plugs into the 14 pin cable normally used by the foot pedal, you plug the foot pedal into the pulser. It will pulse up to 20 times per second with you machine, on an inverter it will go to 200 tps, I believe. Andy, Please correct me if I am mistaken, hope this helps, Paul

Spoolup89, that is .5 to 20 for non inverter machines, and 10-300 for inverter machines, you will have to live with the .5-20 pps, good luck, Paul, I use on on a Synchro 250 and really enjoy it, I also have a Dynasty 200DX, the ultrafast pulsing has not been a necesity so far, but the AC hz adjustment does make a big difference as does the better control of pos/neg percentage.
                      Best regards, Paul

                        Right on Paul.

The PC 300 could be your answer.
