Its simple, low price sells. A lot of people dont think about value, they think about purchase price and thats as far as it goes. There is absolutely no comparison with a 200$ Walmart welder and a Hobart Handler or MM. The better machine works better and will keep going years after the CH has a thick layer of dust on it from sitting broken.

The same reason a BMW, in most cases, costs more than a Ford. They both will get you from point A to point B, but the BMW will be more comfortable, handle better and probably last longer. Not to mention your friends, who are welders, will be more impressed with the Miller. Like with most things it really doesn't pay in the long run go go cheap. This certainly is true with tools and equipment. I good welder that is taken care of will last a long time.

Both of thoses guys make good sense. Again buy cheap get cheap!!!!! I had a CH compressor and it lasted for 8 months of very minimal use. On the other hand I purchased a compressor from Grainger that lasted 10 years. You might as well flush that $200.00 down the toilet as I cannot imagine that CH makes a quality anything. I know this seems harsh but quality should prevail. Price is important but not always #1.

I own a CH 70amp stick welder the one on that site for 60.00. Frankly it's built cheap. It has three settings off, 1/16 and 5/64. It can't burn the size rod it says it can. After burning one 1/16 rod on the 5/64 setting the cable gets too hot to touch. The electrode clamp got bumped one time coming out of the box and a chunk of the plastic broke loose. I can hardly get it to do anything thats considered a good weld. I'm not a great welder can melt some metal together with a stick welder pretty desent. I don't know anything about their wire welder but if it's built to the same standards I would stay away from it.

I have no particular love of Fords, its like,,, if it has tires or t*ts sooner or later it will piss you off. Here is my take on CH. Air tools are their specialty and they make junk, welders are a sideline from that, go figure.
