MM 251 - clicking sound

ours at work does it to. called Miller and asked about it and they said it was normal. It's about over 2yrs old I've been there over a year and weve never had a problem with it.

Is that perhaps something like a "fan on demand" type of thing. Maybe it is telling you to get back to work.

I dunno the machines inners but it sounds sporadic 5 10 15 minute intervals not actually timed, faulty MIG gun trigger switch maybe? are you holding the gun when it does it?

I also noticed that on mine every once in a while maybe every 20-30 min. It sounds like the contactor going on and off(like when you press the gun trigger)

MM 251 - clicking sound
when my 251 is idle'g sometimes 5 or 10 or even 15 minutes it goes click click. Sounds like the selenoid clicking on and off ? I put a clamp on meter w/ hold feature and checked both legs (indepently) and found no voltage problems. You guys got any ideas / suggestions. It's 80 mi oneway to the warranty station, so do I need to be concerned as its not effecting the welding process ( so I think).Tags: None
