--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has anyone in here ever built a log splitter with a hydraulics and gasoline engine. I am looking for some plans and personal experiences with building one.
Thanks,

a wedge like this will split it into four chunks instead of two (save time) just need to make sure hyd are good and strong.
this websit has most of the parts you would need for a splitter or a complete one.

Orginally from MN and built a couple, don't have an actual plan for one. First you'll need to deside if you want to run it on house current, engine, pto (back of tractor), or vehicle current. Anyway you need a piece of Ibeam, hyd cly, splitting wedge (homemade or bought), and a hyd pump of somekind.

Guys,
I know a lot of y'all live in the frozen north (to me, the frozen north is anything north of the Red River) and being the inventive types that weldors are, has anyone got any plans for a hydraulic log splitter that they'd like to share with us shivering down here in Texas?Tags: None
