  • Want to build a race car need help!

Well here is what i want to do. I would like to build a all tube frame stock car style car for the local racing. I would think that is would be a good place to ask since it is www.MillerMotorsports.com page.

kinda would like to get some drawing or blue prints for a car if posible.

    Thanks

    Gary,
Here is a site, Steve Smith Autosports, they have an array of publications on the subject. I purchased a booklet w/software numerious yrs. ago on chassis analysis which is very informative relative to set up.
Good luck on your project, and keep the right side up

summer is here, plant a tree. if you don't have space or time to plant one sponsor some one else to plant one for you. a tree is an investment in our planet, help it out.

check out http://www.chopperhandbook.com for motorcycle building information. nice bulletin board and links.

for race cars, i don't know of anyone (and I looked) selling blueprints. i'd suggest getting the nascar rulebook out and basing your frame off their rules. there are several places that sell premade front clips. building rear clips is easy, then you'd have to make the rollcage. i'd get some dimensions off existing cars for that. i'd suggest to talk to ASKANDY, as he builds cars.

          good luck.

You are asking for the impossible I'm afraid. No chassis builder will give you his designs. There is too much with chassis geometry that is proprietory between builders. There are basic cage kits available from most all chassis builders and a quick look through Stock Car Racing or Circle Track Racing magazine will have ads with cage kits.
Tube chassis need to be precise and are built on chassis jigs to insure they are completely true. You need to know what chassis ride heights you want to build your car with and that will determine chassis locations for front end and rear chassis mounting points for control arms, a-frames, trailing arms, shocks and rear end placement. I'd be glad to show you my set up if you live near Charlotte or I can send you some pics if you like but in all fairness, I too wouldn't be able to give you all you want. If we did that, we wouldn't sell anymore chassis There's a ton to this and I can give you the basics, but you will have to design the car for your type of track and rules.

                  Hope this helps a little.

                  Andy

Thanks Andy for the info! I did not know that there is that much to building a tube chassis. I kinda thought that is would be like the motors in nascar all the same for the most part.

I would love to see some pics of your set up. mail to [email protected]

                    Thanks Again
