Mm 200

How many of you guys have MM200s? I used one today for about 7 or 8 hrs. All I can say is wow nice machine. I have a MM210 and I like it very much. But I got ta tell ya this old 200 puts down a awesome bead!

If you look at the duty cycle and amp ratings, you will find that that old MM200 falls pretty much in line with the present day MM251, which is why it lays a bead down better than your newer MM210...

Used one everyday last year, but now about 2-3 a month this year. I LOVED that machine

If you like it you should try an invision345mp with a 22a feeder, AWWWesome. If money were not an determining factor I would own one instead of my mm210, but I love my mm210 and still get to weld with an invision from time to time and it is sweet.

bulldog - wish I could tell you! Mine is sitting in the box waiting to get hooked up. My service is being upgraded on the 28th (my electrical contractor finally called me back!) in preparation for a new garage addition with heated workshop come this spring.

I wanted to get a welder for my new shop and a buddy of mine had a friend with a "clean" MM200 that was a "few" years old. Only problem was every time I talked to him, it got a few years older. By the time I picked it up, it turned out to be a well-used 1988 model -- not the showpiece I had in mind for the new shop.

I found my new MM251 on e-bay. Seller bought two for some contract work that fell thru, so he only ended up needing/keeping one. No one bid on it, so I offered him $100 less and walked away with a MM251 single rack setup with a 15A spool gun. Found a new new dual cylinder rack on e-bay for another $20, so all I need to find is another set of gauges for the 2nd tank -- I figure I saved myself about $500 off the best internet price for the same package. With the recent Miller price increases, maybe even more...

During my research I found the the MM251 is the newer version on the MM200 -- same basic welder but with new electronics (digital display with variable control vs taps on MM200). Miller must have redesignated their numbering schemes a few years back, which makes things confusing now, as I also thought I was getting less of a machine than the MM210 until I looked at the duty cycles and amp ratings.

If you got back thru the archives you will find nothing but raving reviews on the MM251, so I think I made a great decision to pursue mine. I really can't wait to get the new garage built and try it out!

If you can find a MM 200 with a serial number starting with JE and above get it you will love the old reliable, I have run mine at full output for almost a week building a tree pusher for my dozer and it never refused to do anything I ask. Was welding 1" plate and 3/4" wall pipe. You cant beat the older 200s. I bought my son a new 210 for Xmas because the two MM 200s I bought backed out on me. says he likes it but I will stick with my old 200.
