Why {under what condition or procedure] would beryllium copper wire wheel and or beryllium copper needle scaler be used?

Possibly for non sparking conditions, but why then would you be welding there.....good question, just needs an answer. Paul

I believ the reason is because the carbon steel wire would cause rust deposits to be embedde into the base metals, We have used berillium wedges on x-ray quality welds for the gap on a weld. Obviusly a stainless wheel would be the same but I think the stainless wheel is just to destructive to the final weld.
