Why {under what condition or procedure] would beryllium copper wire wheel and or beryllium copper needle scaler be used?

I believ the reason is because the carbon steel wire would cause rust deposits to be embedde into the base metals, We have used berillium wedges on x-ray quality welds for the gap on a weld. Obviusly a stainless wheel would be the same but I think the stainless wheel is just to destructive to the final weld.
