I dont think that posting a reply to the cigarette advertisement wouldve been as effective. I feel that advertisements on this board are wrong and think that this should be removed or just not responded to and it will make its way to the back. No I am not against smoking, although we all know by now the risks you take when you light up. What I am against is the free advertising these people recieve when they post on public boards. Its like a telemarketer, and if you give these people one inch they will gladly take ten miles and run like theives. Just to let everybody know this may be hipocriticle but I do smoke three cigaretts a day and my wife smokes also, she also used to do telemarketing part time. I feel that by telling this it might help me save some face. Again I feel that this is an invation of privacy. This board is like a family, everyone gets along here much better than any other board, and new members are always welcome. These advertisements are unneccasary here.This is just how I feel and dont mean to upset anybody. Just my 2 cents worth

i am a smoker also and i agree that his add dose not belong here.
and i chose to say that here rather than there for just the same reason as you stated , by replying there it would just have put him back at the top.
it seemed to me there used to be a way to report a bad post but i couldnt find the link?
to join a forem just to put in an add for somthing compleatly outside the forem is just rong
now if they had a good deal on TIG torches or somthing welding related that would be ok i think well still a lil cheezy but better than an add for smokes.
i dont think youre complaint has anything to do with weather smoking is good or evil. just that it dosent belong here.

I don't know that I'd have a problem with a respected member of our community posting a deal on smokes. My wife still smokes, and I don't have anything against saving a buck. But I do take offense when # of posts = 1 tells me about his store, unless he's selling welding equipment too! I'm with Wheat. Dump him and disallow his URL from posting!
