Second request...
Does anybody have a lead as to the choke coil that Miller has (or had) to attenuate a welder's output? A Miller model/part number would be great.
Thanks

I'm not sure of how it would apply to a welding machine's low end, but a choke coil is basicly an inductor. Inductors oppose changes in current flow and tend to smooth out AC ripple currents. How it applies, I don't have clue one!

I have heard of a homedade coil, wrap the tig lead around a pipe [6/810] inch or so, the more wraps, the more the chook. Hopes this helps, I have done it and it does reduce amps...Paul

Miller Choke Coil
I have read where Miller had a "choke coil" that could be used to extend the lower range of a welder.
Anyone have any information on this device and how it works?
Thanks
