  • New Trail Blzr 301G HF or not

I just purchased my first weld mach. MILLER Trail.301G. I'm not sure if this machine has ''High Frequency'' capabilities for HF welding sucn as alluminum. Would I have to buy an HF gaget?

not to bring you down but the 301 has been replaced with a 302 model at about the same price. Also yes you will need an hf unit like the hf-251-d
    Trailblazer 302g
    coolmate4
    hf-251d-1
    super s-32p

          Eicon,

I believe tackit is referring to the possibility that your dealer stuck you with the out of production model Trailblazer 301G. The Trailblazer 302 has replaced the 301. The 302 has several new features, and is supposedly better than the 301. I don't know if you got stuck, maybe your dealer gave you a good price on the discontinued model. I just purchased a new 302 with the Kohler engine and AC/DC stick capabilities. I havn't used it yet, so I really can't say anything about it except that it is one heavy machine. Mine cost $3380.00, $60.00 for the protective cover, and the dealer threw in 2 boxes of Lincoln welding rods along with a new nozzle for my MM210 gun. I think I got a pretty good deal.

          Pat.

                  Eicon,

You are welcome. Don't bother with the HF20!!! It is designed for much larger machines with hihg OCV and high duty cycles. The HF 251 will handle the TB nicely. I had one with my 301G and it was a good combination.
