  • Andy, Question about new product trials

    Andy,

Is there some sort of list to get on where Miller would supply a beta / new product to members for the purpose of testing. I have a new Trailblazer 302 and would be interested in trying out various add ons for this machine, as well as other Miller products..............thanks

There is some pretty strict criteria when picking field test sites. Usually the district manager or account manager in those areas will prequalify the site and give the names to the product manager in charge of the new product. These sites have to be able to use the new items at length to get the needed arc time on the machines for proper component strain and reliability. There are arc and weld timers in the prototypes that tell the techs how many times the arc was struck and how long the machine was welding. These prototypes usually go into some production facility where they are all BLUE and the chance of any info getting to competitors is low. I do alot of testing on TIG and MIG units with my race teams 'cause of the high cycle times and the teams are very loyal and tight lipped. If you think you fall into these guidelines, give your district manager a call so he can check you out.

      Andy,

Thanks for replying. I could be tight lipped, but the other needed criteria at this point and time would be nearly non-existant. I am in the process of starting a part-time mobile welding / fab business, so I doubt I would be able to supply a good solid workout at this time. Will Probably be spring or later before I get the business launched...............thanks again.
