would i void any warrenty if i removed that ugly warning sticker on each side of the machine ?
also, what wax do you use to wax the machine

when tightening down the gas hose, there is NO way to get a wrench on the fitting on the machine. i have found that these fittings needs to be pretty tight to not leak. and being able to wrench only the dinse fitting, 1/2 of the connection, would put a lot of strain on the machine side fitting. what should i do ?

this same gas hose. its seems like it is much longer than it needs to be. is there a reason for this ? not an issue, just wondering.

the handle on top. it seems like it will scratch the paint in time. any ideas to prevent this ? i want my machine to look new for as long as possible.

when i get to building a cart for this. how can i secure it to the cart ?

why didn't it come with a dust cap for the remote connecter ?
and the red plug that goes in the gas port, screw in plugs would have been better.

    thanx, jess

I wondered the same thing with the gas hose? As far as the fittings, I just
snugged them up best I could with only the hose end. It does not leak.
The wax I used was a Meguiars Gold class. (Its what I had laying around). I also just took the strap off the top, it has a handle right there anyway

yeah, i took my strap off also. i was wondering about the handle. it somewhat slaps down on the paint. i was thinking of drill 2 small holes in the handle, down close to the mount. and putting small rubber bumper type plugs in there. that would hold the handle off the paint.

I have seen Miller covers made for the Dynasty's. They run about $45.00. Would like to get a cover for my 210 but I got to draw a line somewhere. I got an old blanket I custom fit to make it fit perfect. Some money well spent is the cable covers for the torch line. I got one for the mig and plan to get one for the Tig. It protects it well and it looks decent. Here's a link to a welding cart from Harbor Frieght. Can't comment on quality.. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=90305

          save the paint

you could put on a pice of clear rubber(vinyl) acrost the top. walmart sells the stuf for covering table cloths, and my aunt used to cover all her ferniture with it .

they sell it in the fabrick department. it comes in lots of diferent thikneses, and even tinted.
cut it to fit and it will stick without any glue so you can take it off to replace as needed

atached is a pic of it on the role we have here at the house

            FWIW,
I bought one of the covers for my 200DX. If I had it to do over, I would go another route. It fits so tight that you have to remove all the fittings to get it to go on properly. Seems kind of silly to have to do that everytime you want to cover it up.

I ended up using a small machinery cover from HTC. It has magnets sewn into the corners that will hold on to your cart. Much better for quick on and off. Too bad though, the Miller cover looks nice.

good idea James. thanx Kev, i'm not worried about a cover right now.

yes, i am going to put some kind of cover on the hose. i saw someone on these forums used a garden hose (or something like that), and cut it in a spiral fashion. this looks like the hot setup for me. if anyone finds info on this, post it here, i can't find it.

anyone build a cart for this machine ? i have some ideas, but other ideas are good also. my big issue is storing the peddle & cables, and taking as little space as possible. i also want to get a coolmate 3 for it down the line.

                  1) What ugly sticker did you get on your machine?
                  2) I am a stickler for keeping my stuff overly protected & polished also, I am a fan of Mother Show Shine.
                  3) Hose fitting is socketed in plastic housing, tighten to just over snug, that's pleanty, show some restraint on this one over tighting does two things a) will indent the fitting, not good. b) strip the housing socket, also not good. Finger tight then about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn to get it snug thats it
                  4) Hose is extra long for the guy that uses the same argon on his other welder or truck mount and uses the portability to get the machine @ hand for adjustment. I personally could use longer for that same reason, I hate moving bottles around in the hulls of broken boats...
                  5) Your the MAN on the holes with the rubber bumper I am gonna copy you on that one.
                  6) The weight of the machine keeps my baby in place, but the sky is the limit, portability is the key in my shop for this unit, so i can grab her and run... you could just use a couple new blue tie downs and snug her to your cart..
                  7) My 251 did not have a cover either, what's up with that? It's only a 75 cent item you would think that we would be covered ( a little pun there LOL)
And on a side note I did purchase the Miller cover with a little modification and cut two slits in for the connectors to feed through then had the wife sew the edges so they would not snag or frey. Should come from the factory this way in my opinion, ( did the same in the plasma cutter for the air feed)
And last note you can purchase 3M clear vinyl for any areas that get rubbed and protect your paint for that better than new look.( available from any sign shop or on-line)
Why do you take such care of that stuff THEY ARE ONLY MACHINES...
                  BECAUSE THEY ARE MYYYYYYYYYYYYYY MACHINES
I treat them like they were alive .
P.S. Build your own cart, that imported stuff is junk, and you will be pretty pissed if your baby hits the floor due to a 60 buck cart, and you can do it for less cost in material not counting your time

                    1. the "warning" sticker that tells anyone who is smart enough to use this machine what they allready know. liability i guess.
                    2. so am i. i like my stuff to look and work like new for MANY years.
                    3. not the "dinse" connecter. the little hose for the dinse to the machine for the gas. it can only be tightened with a wrench. it should have some kind of handle so it could be hand tightened. something like the round ones on regulators. i'm going to make my own, probably out of aluminum since i have a lathe.
                    4. i am talking about the 12' or so long hose from the dinse to the machine. not the hose from the machine, on the back, to the bottle.
                    6. i am not going to rely on its own weight to keep it in place. some form of mount pads should have be incorperated into the base on the machine to fasten it down.
                    7. i don't think i will need a cover for it. its going to have a pretty easy life.

yes. i'm building my own cart, using this machine to weld it together. i just wanted some ideas, as i don't see any carts make specificaly for this machine.

Just a note about covers the one that came from my dealer manufactured by miller had a note inside the box not to use the machine while covered due to possible overheating.

                      Peace,

Hey Blown, I still am lost on item 3, can you shoot a picture?
As for #4, I only received a really short hose from the dinse to the machine. Maybe that contractor kit came through
#6 My little rubber feet stick pretty well to the blue paint on my cart
I will shoot you a picture of the cart I built for my unit. It is going to be replaced by a all inclusive unit with air tires (rougher terrain) that will carry all the units and gas for the ultimate in portability (and combined storage) to make even the motor sports guys green with envy
The final piece to my puzzle will be the 302 as power OH YEA!
                        You gotta love this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cart I've been selling to most of the teams here is the little mig cart # 770187.
                          see pic.

The strap is then used to strap it to the cart. The cart will hold a medium sized tank and your accys can go on the bottom.

the hose in the pic, from the dinse to the machine, and its fitting. just wondering why it is as long as it is. not an issue, just wondering.
and the fitting, they need to be TIGHT. i gues i will just have to keep an eye on it.

i know the machine isn't going to slide off the cart. but hat if the cart gets knocked over. it probably won't, but you never know. i ant to mount the machine so if that happens, the cart will take a blows, not the machine.
or if the cart gets bumped hard, the machine won't just roll off it.
or most likely. as i am wheeling the cart around, the machine won't roll off the cart from a bump/whatever.

you bought an after market torch that has to fit many welders not all are inverters and the conector's will not always be so close.

if you had gotten the contractors kit you would have gotten a torch from miller that was set up for that welder and they knew how long it needed to be.
