Well, I recently shipped a Syncrowave 350 from MI to TN. It had the Miller cart that will hold 2 bottles, but it is set up with the vertical water cooler in one of the spots. It also came with lead...maybe 20 feet of it. I bought it on ebay and am pleased with the price.
Anyway, I estimated shipping weight when I set up the shipping with a trucking company. After this, I discovered that the machine itself weighed about 120lb more than I had estimated. So, after they jerked me around and didn't pick it up for 3 weeks, they still aren't through jerking me around. I did get the machine, but now they want me to pay more to account for the weight difference. I don't know what the cart, leads and the cooler weigh. Granted, I can weigh all but the cart here at home, but if I can get "official" word from Miller or a copy of the manuals for these items, it would be great.
Of course they claim that they used a "certified scale" but I believe there's a clear conflict of interest that could bias them to guess at the weight and guess high in order to maximize profits.
The problem is that I have already paid them $320, and if I pay them what they want, then the total is up to just under $500. I can ship a car for that!!!
You guys have any advice on whether to pay anything at all, or how I can get an official weight or owners manuals on these items? Anything official that I submit will help me with my dispute.
